BioHub Maryland Hires Skills Training Leader to Expand Bioprocessing Workforce Training

Frederick, MD (February 28, 2024) – BioHub Maryland, a workforce development initiative of the Maryland Tech Council, today named Joshua Hett its new Bioprocessing Training Manager. BioHub Maryland equips high school graduates, disadvantaged communities, and Veterans with technical skills and training to enter the life sciences field in Maryland. 

Joshua most recently served as Senior Manager of Technical Training for Catalent Pharma Solutions. He holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University and a Bachelor’s degree in Education with a focus on Mathematics. With a passion for education, Joshua has dedicated the past four years to instructional leadership in cell and gene therapy, a dynamic sector in Maryland’s life sciences industry. 

“Building a strong and diverse pipeline of skilled life sciences workers is at the core of BioHub Maryland’s mission,” said Kelly Schulz, CEO of the Maryland Tech Council. “Joshua’s deep understanding of the technical skills needed for a successful cell and gene therapy career makes him an excellent addition to our team. We look forward to working with him to build the highly-skilled workforce Maryland’s life sciences industry needs to develop the cures, treatments, and therapies the world depends on.” 

BioHub Maryland utilizes globally trusted training curricula from the National Institute of Bioprocessing Research and Training (NIBRT) to provide high school graduates, disadvantaged communities, and Veterans with a career path to enter the life sciences field and to provide opportunities for life sciences employers to upskill and train employees more efficiently.
