Protect Patients. Pause the PDAB.
The Prescription Access Alliance of Maryland (PAA-MD), an initiative of the Maryland Tech Council, seeks to educate Marylanders on the consequences of Maryland’s Prescription Drug Affordability Board (PDAB) for patients and the state’s life sciences economy. The Alliance also aims to share alternative policies that more effectively address patient out-of-pocket costs for prescriptions while strengthening the state’s life sciences economy.
“After six years, the verdict on Maryland’s PDAB is undeniable: It has failed to make medicine more affordable.”
– Reverend Alvin C. Hathaway, Sr., Baltimore Sun, October 22, 2025
“While supporters desperately push the talking point of lowering drug costs, PDABs in reality will bring higher patient costs and diminished access to treatments.”
– Jeff Anders, Maryland resident, Policy Advisor, Rare Access Action Project, March 4, 2025
