Maryland Secretary of Information Technology to Keynote 5th Annual Technology Transformation Conference

Frederick, MD (February 1, 2024) – The Maryland Tech Council, the largest technology and life sciences trade association in the state, today announced that Katie Savage, Secretary of the Maryland Department of Information Technology (DoIT), will keynote the 5th Annual Technology Transformation Conference on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at LIVE! Casino & Hotel at Arundel Mills. Secretary Savage will discuss statewide initiatives in cybersecurity, modernization, and artificial intelligence. 

Secretary Savage leads the State of Maryland’s efforts to create and implement solutions that improve IT infrastructure and government services and keep Maryland current with IT industry trends. She previously led the Defense Digital Service of the Department of Defense, leading dozens of programmers, designers, engineers, and data scientists. Savage helped lead the DOD’s COVID-19 response, including the development of a mobile tracking application used by 200K+ personnel, cybersecurity measures to ensure safe vaccine manufacturing and delivery as part of Operation Warp Speed, and the development of emergency communication software toolkit for critical officials in the Office of the Secretary of Defense.

The Technology Transformation Conference brings hundreds of technology professionals together to shed light on the newest technology innovations shaping the marketplace. The full-day conference features in-depth discussions with industry experts on AI, Ag-tech, Energy Tech, Med-Tech, Cybersecurity, Capital and Workforce Development, and other technology topics.
