The Maryland Tech Council wants to inform our members about a recent incident involving a spam email/text message that has been circulating among our members and board. The suspicious message claimed to be from our organization. Please be informed that this spam message is not legitimate and is an attempt to deceive and gather personal information from unsuspecting recipients. Your privacy and security are of utmost importance to us, and we want to ensure that you are aware of this situation.

It is crucial to emphasize that the Maryland Tech Council is in no way responsible for these spam messages, and we have taken immediate action to address the situation. We have taken swift action to address the situation by involving our dedicated IT team. They are actively investigating the matter and implementing additional security measures to prevent any further occurrences.

  • Do not respond: Refrain from responding to spam messages or engaging with any links or attachments they may contain.
  • Delete immediately: Delete the messages from your inbox immediately to avoid any accidental interaction.
  • Exercise caution: Be cautious about providing personal or financial information to unknown or untrusted sources, especially in response to such spam messages.
  • Strengthen device security: Regularly update and strengthen the security settings on your devices, and ensure you have reliable antivirus software installed.
