Maryland Tech Council Statement on Moore-Miller Administration’s Commitment to Life Sciences, Technology and Innovation

Frederick, MD (January 14, 2025) – The Maryland Tech Council (MTC), the largest technology and life sciences trade association in the state, issued the following statement from its Chief Executive Officer, Kelly Schulz, following Governor Wes Moore’s speech on the economy at the headquarters of IonQ, a MTC member.

“I commend the Moore-Miller Administration for its support of life sciences, technology, and aerospace and defense – industries that comprise more than 10,000 local companies, nearly 400,000 workers, and which generate billions of dollars of economic activity in the state. Specifically, the Administration’s continued support for BioHub Maryland will accelerate the state’s global life sciences leadership, and equip Maryland workers with the skills they need to compete for high-paying careers in the state’s biopharma manufacturing industry.”

“We stand ready to partner with the Moore-Miller Administration and the General Assembly to accelerate tech and life sciences growth – not just for industry’s sake, but for the sake of every Marylander who benefits from the jobs and technological breakthroughs they make possible.”

Governor Moore is scheduled to deliver the keynote address at MTC’s Annual Advocacy Summit and Leadership Dinner Wednesday, January 15, 2025. Learn more
