Maryland Tech Council Feels the Loss of an Innovation Giant

Past Chair of Maryland Tech Council’s Maryland Bioscience Alliance, John Holaday, passed away earlier this month.

John was a pillar of the industry in Maryland and across the country. He helped shape the face of the US pharmaceutical industry with his leadership and chairmanship of companies such as EntreMed (now CASI Pharmaceuticals), DisposeRx, Aireon Therapeutics and MaxCyte.

A military veteran and adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and the Uniformed Services University, John was inducted into the E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year Hall of Fame in 2006.

John will be missed for his countless contributions to both the Maryland Tech Council and the life sciences industry, his loss will be most strongly felt due to the character and humanity he shared with the people around him.
