About the Speaker

Kathy McKim, Senior Vice President & Principal, Hawksbill Group

Kathy is Senior Vice President for Hawksbill Group, a global diversified business and communications consulting firm based in Washington, DC that provides strategic counsel in public affairs, corporate communications, and business operations. She recently became a Principal at Hawksbill Advisors, a Hawksbill Group company focused on public policy and external and regulatory affairs worldwide. Previously, Kathy served as Vice President of External Affairs for AT&T, where she led California’s statewide constituency relations and operations organization. She managed a team of professionals to build relationships across various segments, work closely with state and local elected officials and engage employees in the external community. Kathy’s passion for service and volunteerism resulted in her appointment by the Governor of California to the California Volunteers Commission where she served as chair for two terms. Kathy currently chairs the Sacramento Region Community Foundation Board and has served as Chair of California Asian Chamber of Commerce Board and Founding Chair for Teach for America Capital Valley Board. She is a board member of California Women Lead, St. HOPE Public Schools, the CalAsian Foundation and is a member of the International Women’s Forum – Northern California Chapter. Kathy’s experience within AT&T includes leading national business sales operations for Global Business, directing a data solutions business center supporting new emerging technology and managing both business and residential call center operations. In 2023, Kathy was recognized by the Sacramento Business Journal with the Corporate Citizenship Career Achievement Award for her ongoing commitment to philanthropy in the region. As an executive in the telecommunications industry, Kathy has been recognized for her leadership as a Business Journal “Women Who Means Business” awardee, the American Leadership Forum’s Exemplary Leader of the Year and a Women of Influence through OCA.

Christa has a Bachelor of Science Degree specialized in Communications from the University of Maryland.
