Recent Research at APL’s Intelligent Systems Center
April 27, 2020 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
FreeThe April 28 Maryland AI meetup program features Ashley J. Llorens, chief of the Intelligent Systems Center (ISC) at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), who will discuss recent research at the ISC.
Register for this free online Zoom program at https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_EPqEhqiURtichOs3bhISuQ and optionally RSVP at https://www.meetup.com/Maryland-AI/events/270024616/ .
From the ISC Web page: “Intelligent systems can make decisions under uncertainty – some of our intelligent systems can fly, walk, swim and roll and others ingest vast, complex datasets to make useful predictions. APL leverages and extends advances in machine intelligence to enable systems like these to perform increasingly sophisticated tasks autonomously in challenging scenarios.” Read more at https://www.jhuapl.edu/ISC/Home/About .
Speaker: Ashley J. Llorens is chief of the Intelligent Systems Center at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (JHU/APL), where he directs research and development in machine learning, robotics, autonomous systems, and neuroscience towards addressing the nation’s most critical challenges. He received an M.S. in electrical engineering, with a concentration in digital signal processing, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is a voting member of the Recording Academy, the organization that organizes the Grammys.
