Internet & Cybersecurity Visionaries Vint Cerf & Lance Hoffman on Past Present Future Challenges

$65Vint Cerf and Lance Hoffman were visionaries. They saw and acted on both the promise and the risks of building connections between people, places, and machines. The benefits to commerce, governments, and individuals have been clear. The risks inherent in widespread connectivity have regularly and graphically been demonstrated. Cerf and Hoffman will address the banquet attendees. Their remarks are sure to amuse, enlighten, and motivate.
Vinton G. Cerf will be awarded the lifetime achievement award by the District of Columbia Council of Engineering and Architectural Societies (DCCEAS) at the National Engineers Week Awards Banquet on Saturday, 23 February 2019. Vint Cerf is well known for his design work on TCP/IP protocols and as with Dr. Robert Kahn, the “father of the internet”. Vinton G. Cerf has served as vice president and chief Internet evangelist for Google since October 2005.
Also on the program is another founder and pioneer, Dr. Lance Hoffman. Dr. Hoffman founded and taught the first course on computer security at the University of California, Berkeley in 1970. He also founded the computer security program at George Washington University and lead the university to become a Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education.
